C5CupHolder

If you own or have owned a C5, you are probably frustrated with the lack of a decent place to put a cup or bottle without having to fight it while driving.  It's one of the biggest interior complaints you will see or hear.   There are several solutions for it that I will highlight here quickly.

cupholderC5CupHolder Small

My favorite is this ring that slips over the cup holder cover to create a taller holder for your cup.  Found online on Facebook at Corvette Clips.  $20 shipped to your door, and you can pay $4 to have anything printed on it.  This picture has Corvette added to it.  The business owner actually prints these out on his 3d Printer.

CorvetteModsCupHolderCorvetteModsCupHolder 2

Corvette Mods has this version for one or two cup holders.  Priced at $39.99  Found on Corvette Mods web site.

C5CupHolder Tall  Here is a $55 option also from Corvette Mods.

C5CupHolderWaterfallCoupe  There is this waterfall option as well, but just for the Coupe.

In any case, drive safe with a cup holder that works!  It's a small cost to improve your safety.

Trunk Popper

If you own a C5 Convertible or Fix Top, you probably have that irritation when you pop the trunk and it doesn't pop up enough to be able to open it.  Someone was showing this little spring off at the last Eastside Corvette Club monthly meeting at Speedway Chevrolet.  It's a small spring that installs in like 3 minutes next to the trunk latch.  When you pop the trunk, the spring literally pops the trunk up so you can easily open it.  Great idea by someone.  Available online - here is one link for Davies Corvette Parts - $15.95

I won't pretend to know the details of this, but apparently on the C7 Corvette there is some type of issue with the Cup Divider. It is apparently flimsy, falls out, or gets lost.  Leave it to Corvette Clips to create a solution for it.  Cost $25, includes shipping.   NOTE - I purchased this for my C7.  Not happy with it, seems to be a waste of money!

C5 Interior LED lights

I don't know about you, but my interior lighting was just to dingy when I bought my C5.  I found this site that has replacement LED lights for pretty much every light in your Corvette - crom C4 to C7.  Vette-lights.com has a great selection.  I love the new, brighter interior that looks like lighting you would find in a new car!

Seat Belt Extenders

c5 Belt Extender

I feel embarassed when friends go for a ride in my C5 and struggle with the seat belt.  It sits low, and is a real problem getting plugged in when you aren't used to it.  I don't have an issue, because I've used it enough times, but other do.  This is a handy extender to put on the passenger side to help others get buckled up safely.  Starting at $20 from Seatbelt Extender Pros.  They make them for all Corvettes all the way back to 1963, and in short stubby extenders like in the photo up to 15".  Might be what you need to occassionally strap that carseat into the car as well

About DSC Sport

DSC stands for Dynamic Suspension Control. Using an algorithm developed out of years of professional race data, DSC adjusts the damping level of each individual shock in virtually real time. The result is an active suspension setup that provides more grip to the tire, greater stability and ride control, and increased comfort for all driving styles and road conditions.

DSC Sport allows drivers to custom tune their suspension by creating various tuning maps within the DSC Sport Tuning Software. Users may wish to create custom maps for specific tracks or roads, unique rain set ups, or to improve compatibility with other aftermarket products and vehicle setups.

mild to wild

Found this nifty little device to add to a C6 Grandsport or Z06 with NPP exhaust.  NPP is a baffle in the muffler that opens under certain loads to open up the exhaust, similar to cut outs.   This little Mild to Wild device allows you to control when this opens via a remote control  It simply replaces the fuse with their inline fuse, and a ground.  Easy 5 minute installation - allows you to go straight exhaust at your one personal timing.  I bought one for $70 through Amazon, but have seen them lower priced and higher at various locations.

This article provides a method of mounting your Iphone to the Cigarette lighter in a Cy Corvette.  You could use a different cable and do the same with other phones as well.  It's a nice looking mod.

Door handle before     spoiler before

When the C6 Corvettes were made, they all came with black door handles.  The Z06 and Grand Sport also had black spoilers on them.   Later, GM decided to make Color matched spoilers and door handles.   They are a nice upgrade to the car, and pretty affordable as well.  You can get the two door handles for under $70, and the Spoiler for about the same price.  Installation is quite easy.  This Video shows how to install them in an hour or less for all of them.
